Cohasset is the South Shore's smallest coastal town and, by many measures, its most exclusive.

With just over 8,000 residents and a compact geography, Cohasset feels less like a suburban town and more like a New England village that happens to sit on some of the region's most dramatic coastline. St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, the Cohasset Common, and the historic center anchor the town in a way that has been carefully preserved for generations.

The coastline defines the town as much as the village center does. Sandy Beach, one of the finest on the South Shore, sits at the town's edge. The rocky ledges of Jerusalem Road curve past historic estates and provide some of the most photographed stretches of coast north of Cape Cod. World's End (technically in Hingham but adjacent to Cohasset) adds hundreds of acres of preserved peninsula land.

Cohasset attracts buyers who value privacy, quality, and quiet over amenities or scale. Home prices are among the highest on the South Shore, particularly for waterfront and historic properties. The town has resisted large-scale development, and much of its housing stock consists of well-maintained historic homes and premium single-family residences.

Schools are excellent, with Cohasset High School consistently ranked among the top public schools in Massachusetts. The town works particularly well for families willing to invest in one of the region's most refined communities, and for empty-nesters who have chosen Cohasset as the place they will spend the next chapter.
