Hull is the South Shore's peninsula town, and one of its most distinctive by geography alone.

The town stretches out into the Atlantic in a long, narrow arm, with water on both sides for much of its length. Nantasket Beach anchors the town's identity: once one of New England's most famous summer destinations (with a massive amusement park, hotels, and a beach that drew hundreds of thousands of visitors each summer), Nantasket has evolved through decades of change into a mix of year-round homes, seasonal properties, and public beach.

The beach carnival heritage still shows. Some of Hull's streetscape retains the density and character of a seaside resort town rather than a typical South Shore suburb. Walking Nantasket Avenue in June feels different than walking Duxbury's Washington Street. Which is exactly the point for the buyers who choose Hull.

Hull has become one of the most interesting entry points to the South Shore coastal market. Home prices are meaningfully lower than in Cohasset, Hingham, or Duxbury for equivalent coastal access. The town has attracted younger buyers, second-home purchasers, and remote workers who could not have afforded a similar coastal location a decade ago.

The commuter boat from Pemberton Point provides one of the fastest routes to downtown Boston. That, combined with the town's evolving character and its distinctive peninsula geography, makes Hull one of the more interesting South Shore markets to watch. It is not for everyone, and that is exactly why it works for the people who choose it.
